Benefits

The ACO series of tractors was originally designed to address specific shortcomings of other tractors in southern African farming operations. It has been successfully utilised and deployed over many years.

The ACO series of tractors has a phenomenal track record and its benefits are well known to the industry. While maintaining these benefits and capabilities, the tractor has now been redeveloped to be capable of modernised farming.

Benefits of our rebuilt ACO tractors

Our rebuild process has been designed to retain the original strengths of the ACO tractor, while modernising and enhancing its capabilities.

Key benefits:

  • each tractor is restored to as new condition, per the manufacturer’s specifications
  • new capabilities suitable for modernised farming are added
  • a range of new features enhance operator comfort and ease of use
  • every rebuilt tractor comes with a full warranty and on-going support.

It’s a common requirement for farm-specific applications to be integrated with tractor systems. Our in-house electronic and CAN bus platform can easily be integrated with owner-specific applications.

With the integration of electronic management, monitoring and protection systems, operational downtime is minimised.

Unique benefits of the original ACO tractor

The original ACO tractor has a higher lower link arm attachment point then most other tractors available today. The reason behind this was to enable deployment of deeper than normal ripping implements to reach and break the field’s water table in the dryer parts of the country.

If such implements were deployed on any other tractor, the maximum raised hitch position would still be too low to transport the specialised equipment.

Another benefit originally designed for the ACO was the double-acting hitch capability.

In floating mode, an implement is lowered to dig into the soil by gravity only. In southern African conditions, the implement’s weight alone is not usually sufficient to break the water table. The ability to use the vehicle’s hydraulic system to place additional force on the implement is of vital importance. With the upgraded hydraulic system we’ve added, this force is an additional 10 tons.

Also, the ACO tractor features a simple yet extremely reliable ADE engine. This engine still uses the old mechanical type injectors, which are less sensitive to the low-quality fuel available in southern Africa.

The Future

The new series production tractor is in development, and new technology partnerships are already formed. The development of the new tractor will run in parallel to the rebuild program. We envisage having the new tractor on the production line within the next two years.

We are all looking forward to the exciting new developments ahead.
